About DentPass

What is DentPass?

DentPass is an online dental revision platform for UK BDS students. It provides over 10,000 exam-style MCQ practice questions, timed mock examinations, spaced-repetition flashcards, OSCE station practice, instant feedback with clinical explanations, and performance analytics — all aligned with the GDC core BDS curriculum.

Who is behind DentPass?

DentPass was founded by Lahisan and Victor, two students at Bristol Dental School, part of the University of Bristol. They built it after spending years piecing their own revision together from textbooks, lecture slides and scattered question banks. DentPass Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17008794.

Which UK dental schools does DentPass cover?

DentPass covers the GDC core BDS curriculum, which is shared across all UK dental schools. That makes it relevant whether you study at King's College London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Sheffield, Queen Mary, Peninsula, or any other UK BDS programme.

Is DentPass suitable for international dental students?

DentPass is written specifically for the UK BDS curriculum as defined by the General Dental Council. Students on other programmes can still use it for core biomedical and clinical science revision, but the question style and curriculum mapping are built around UK dental school assessments.

Content and curriculum

How many practice questions does DentPass have?

There are over 10,000 exam-style questions, organised by year, system and topic. They cover single-best-answer (SBA) questions, multiple-choice questions, short-answer (MSA) questions, and spot-image identification.

What years of the BDS programme does DentPass cover?

Year 1 content is fully available now, covering head and neck anatomy, oral biology and histology, biochemistry and human physiology, dental materials science, microbiology and immunology, general and oral pathology, and pharmacology foundations. Years 2–3 launch in September 2026, and Years 4–5 are in active development.

Who writes the questions?

Questions are written against the GDC core curriculum and reviewed before they go live, so each one is grounded in taught material and comes with a full clinical explanation rather than just a correct letter.

Does DentPass cover OSCEs?

Yes. DentPass includes OSCE station practice with simulated patients, structured marking against station-specific criteria, and a debrief after each attempt. It is being rolled out progressively alongside the written question bank.

Are there flashcards as well as questions?

Yes. DentPass includes spaced-repetition flashcards using the FSRS scheduling algorithm, both DentPass-authored decks and decks you create yourself. You can also import existing Anki decks from an .apkg file.

Pricing and subscriptions

Is DentPass free to use?

Yes. The free plan gives you access to a selection of practice topics with full instant feedback, clinical explanations and basic progress tracking. There is no time limit and no credit card required.

How much does DentPass Premium cost?

Premium is £13.99 per month, or £129 per year — which works out at £10.75 a month, a saving of about 23% against monthly billing. Premium unlocks the complete question bank, every curriculum topic, timed mock exams and advanced analytics.

Can I cancel a DentPass Premium subscription?

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. There are no lock-ins and no cancellation fees, and you keep full access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refund eligibility is set out in full in the DentPass Refund Policy. To request one, email [email protected] with your full name, registered email address, date of purchase and the reason for the request.

Do you offer discounts for dental societies or year groups?

Get in touch at [email protected] with your university, year group and rough numbers, and the team will come back to you about group access.

Using the platform

Does DentPass work on mobile?

Yes. DentPass is fully responsive and works on any device. It can also be installed as a Progressive Web App, so it behaves like a native app on iOS and Android, and your progress syncs automatically across devices.

How does DentPass help me find my weak topics?

Every answer you give is tracked by topic and system. The analytics pages show accuracy per topic over time, so weak areas surface automatically instead of you having to guess where your revision time is best spent.

Can I practise under exam conditions?

Yes. Timed mock exams replicate the format and time pressure of real dental school assessments, and you get a full breakdown with explanations once you submit.

How do I reset my password?

Use the 'Forgot password' link on the login page. You will be sent a one-time code by email to verify your identity before setting a new password.

How do I get help or report a problem with a question?

Every question has a report option built into the review screen, which sends it straight to the team. For anything else, email [email protected] — the team aims to respond within five working days.

Still have a question?
